Plant Quality Manager
Vianode is an advanced battery materials company providing sustainable anode graphite solutions for the battery and EV value chains in North America and Europe. Vianode operates the world's most sustainable full-scale anode graphite plant for batteries at Herøya Norway.
Vianode’s long-term ambition is to supply advanced battery materials to 3 million EVs per year by 2030. Vianode is owned by the world-leading financial company Altor.
Our first industrial plant for the production of anode graphite has been opened in Herøya, Norway since 2024. The next phase will involve construction of a large-scale plant in Ontario, Canada.
Plant Quality Manager
As Plant Quality Manager, you will provide independent quality management for the manufacturing site and be responsible for driving product quality, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. The role reports to VP Quality.
You will lead and develop the site Quality team while working closely with Production, Process Technology, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Laboratory, and EHS functions to ensure robust manufacturing performance and achievement of plant quality objectives.
The role is a member of the Vianode Quality team and serves as the primary quality interface towards customers, certification bodies, and key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead and develop the Plant Quality team.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, customer requirements, and Vianode standards.
Drive manufacturing quality performance through effective quality systems, process controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead customer quality activities, including complaint handling, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Support new product introduction (NPI), industrialization, and manufacturing scale-up activities.
Lead internal, customer, supplier, and certification audits.
Own and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System (QMS).
Monitor quality KPIs and drive actions to improve quality, process capability, and customer satisfaction.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to strengthen quality culture and operational excellence.
Core qualifications and requirements:
We are looking for a quality leader with strong manufacturing experience and a passion for building robust quality systems in a growing industrial environment.
You are likely to have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
7–10 years of experience within Quality Management in manufacturing industries such as automotive, battery materials, chemicals, process industry, or related sectors.
Leadership experience from a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
Experience with customer quality, audits, quality systems, and continuous improvement.
Experience with AIAG Core Tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA.
Lead Auditor certification (IATF 16949 and/or VDA 6.3) is considered an advantage.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels.
