Position Overview: Join us at an exciting time as we embark on a major scale-up, expanding our operations from Norway to Canada! We are seeking a proactive and adaptable HR Coordinator to support the HR Manager and Leadership Team in building a strong team and fostering a positive workplace culture during this transformative growth phase. You will play a vital role in supporting HR operations, ensuring the seamless implementation of processes tailored to local HR best practices and regulations, and contributing to the success of our expansion.
This role requires hands-on experience in HR, with the ability to manage day-to-day responsibilities, support recruitment efforts, and collaborate on HR initiatives. It also demands full-time physical presence on-site, ensuring a direct and impactful contribution to our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related daily tasks and local issue resolution.
- Partner with the HR Manager, Talent Acquisition Partner and Leadership team to build and grow a strong local team.
- Support recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent.
- Build a robust local network and promote the company's brand presence within the community.
- Facilitate internal and external communications to engage stakeholders effectively.
- Assist in scaling HR systems and processes to meet organizational needs during rapid expansion.
- Provide support with compensation, benefits administration, and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and maintain accurate employee records.
- Partner with local universities to offer internships or co-op opportunities for students to gain practical experience within our organization.
- Assist in organizing training programs and skills development initiatives.
- Oversee the end-to-end onboarding process to guarantee a seamless experience for all involved.
- Foster a positive work environment and maintain strong employee relations.
- Support the implementation of HR processes, policies, and procedures aligned with local HR best practices and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in a start-up environment, an asset.
- Experience with unionized environments, an asset.
- Familiarity with HR best practices and local labor laws & regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in HR softwares and Microsoft Office Suite.
Location: Southwestern Ontario. Full-time on-site.
