About the Position: We are seeking a skilled Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS) Manager to join our team. You will contribute to the early stage of a large-scale expansion project in Canada (counting ~90,000 I/O’s). Key responsibilities include driving and coordinating activities within the automation discipline throughout the project period. When in operation, implementing and optimizing automated solutions to increase the efficiency and quality of our production processes. This position will report to the Vice President of Automation, IT, and Digitalization.

Main Responsibilities:

Project Tasks:

• Drive and coordinate activities within the automation discipline throughout the project period.
• Assess proposed specifications, automation designs, equipment selections, and installation plans.
• Support the bidding and selection process for the execution phase.
• Address any discrepancies or deviations from project specifications.

Operational Tasks:

• Ensure safety, corporate, and quality standards are met in all automation processes.
• Build up and lead an automation team to build and operate automation systems in the factory.
• Implement and optimize automated solutions to increase the efficiency and quality of our production processes.
• Contribute to the development and follow-up of the automation strategies, corporate standards, and action plans.
• Develop and maintain a lifecycle plan for the Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS) at the large-scale plant in Canada

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum a bachelor's degree in automation, electrical, cybernetics, or equivalent. A higher degree is an advantage.
• 10+ years of industry experience, especially in large-scale projects.
• Good technical competence in automation, including knowledge of DCS systems, robotics, and industrial AI.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team of automation specialists at Vianode's plants and with our external partners.
• Solid experience with planning and implementing automation projects.
• Experience with design and development of automation systems for batch and continuous processes.
• International and multi-cultural experience (a strong asset).
• Knowledge of Canadian codes, standards, and regulations.
• Team management experience.
• English fluency required.
• Availability to travel.

Location: Southwestern Ontario.

Initially Remote (home office) until an office is available. Initially working remotely from a home office until an office space becomes available
